A 10 DAY TRIP IN 1988 FROM TASMANIA TO SEE HIS BROTHER IN TOWNSVILLE FOR A QUICK BREAK - THAT’S HOW IT ALL STARTED. IT ENDED WITH NEVILLE MEETING KERRIE & MOVING TO LIVE PERMANENTLY IN TOWNSVILLE. IT WAS A LUCKY DAY FOR MEAT LOVERS IN TOWNSVILLE.

Once settled, Neville bought the tiny French Street Butchery.  He worked hard & people soon recognised Neville, by his signature  bow-tie that he wore to work every day - Uncommon in Townsville.

Neville purchased the then Eyre Street Butchery across from the General Hospital.

Business grew quickly & the next purchase was Sunvale Meats in Aitkenvale.  Neville brought most of his meat from his homeland of Tasmania. It proved to be the right decision.

Finally, the BIG move – Neville & Kerrie purchased the building at 74 Bundock Street & Butcher On Bundock was born.  Bundock had a staff of 14 to help run the very busy shop.

Neville was quickly considered ‘Townsville’s Premium butcher’ as described by a write up in the Qantas Magazine.

A few years later Butcher On Bundock was sold.

Not wanting to sit idle for too long & remaining in Townsville they purchased the little corner store that was formally known as Ahern & Powell, The Green Shop, The Blue Shop & Northward Foodworks. This dynamic little business has now been renamed Whites Corner Store expanding to offer a great Townsville Catering service.

Growing up in the ‘Whitehouse’ Connor {Kerrie & Neville’s son} was 14 years old & soon wanted to work, he decided to undertake an apprenticeship with his dad.

While his parents were away on a holiday & two years into his apprenticeship Connor decided he wanted to make pies and now CJ’s pies are a staple part of White’s Northward Grocer.
